God continues to overwhelm and encourage us to go forward with Him.
On the first workday of the year, we saw seven clients. Three accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. There was also the bonus of a client's boyfriend recommitting his life to Christ. This gave us a glimpse into the days to come. In May, the long awaited “Crisis Pregnancy Center” sign was installed as a beacon of light for prospective clients. We saw a record 63 new clients in the month of November.
The LEAP (Life Education Assistance Program) class enrollment has increased to the point that our classroom is often packed from wall to wall. Our Bible study that helps individuals learn to read, understand, and hunger for the Word has been well received and is growing. The wonderful donated items are being passed on to bless the members of our classes.
The Center has also been able to partner with several local churches to meet the needs of desperate hurricane victims.
The Lord calls us to excellence in service and provides what is needed to make it happen.
Two employees were placed on staff to meet the demands of the ministry. The Center received an extremely favorable critique and approval for Care Net affiliation. The Care Net organization sets high standards for its members including policies and procedures, a legal audit, site visits, and training. Representatives from our center gained insight into expanding the ministry at Care Net’s national conference. One of our representatives became certified to lead a Post-Abortion Healing Program planned for 2006 at our location.
With increased services, we knew a major fundraising event was mandatory. The Lord took our small plans for a banquet and created a gala event in celebration of life. Testimonies touched hearts, and the benefit far exceeded our expectations. At the end of the evening, two pro-choice persons told us they gained a different perspective of the pro-life movement. Mere words cannot express the wonderful joy of celebrating the Lord’s love for life.
The Lord shows His faithfulness to the unborn through ultrasounds.
Statistics prove that we serve in a high abortion risk area. In 2003, we were given a twenty-year-old restored ultrasound machine. The Lord answered many prayers, and all things came together for the Center to become a limited medical facility. Focus on the Family contributed $28,000 towards the $35,000 cost of a new machine. This allows the Center to show a pregnant, abortion-vulnerable woman her baby within 6 weeks of conception. A view into the womb at a younger gestational age will prayerfully save many lives.
